Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District / Dec 9, 2020
STATE OF MISSOURI, Plaintiff-Respondent vs. BRADLEY DOUGLAS COOK, Defendant-Appellant
Bradley Douglas Cook was convicted of first-degree assault and armed criminal action, stemming from an altercation at a homeless shelter where he claimed self-defense. On appeal, Cook argued the trial court erred by refusing evidence of the victim's methamphetamine use, refusing a self-defense instruction regarding withdrawal, and submitting a faulty verdict director. The appellate court denied all three points, finding no prejudicial error or manifest injustice, and affirmed the conviction.
