CALEB Z. ECCHER, Appellant vs. STATE OF MISSOURI, Respondent
Caleb Eccher appealed the denial of his Rule 24.035 motion for post-conviction relief after pleading guilty to seven felonies, including two counts of first-degree assault, and receiving an aggregate 75-year sentence. Eccher argued his guilty plea was involuntary because his counsel allegedly misled him about the likely sentence, and that his sentence was grossly disproportionate. The Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District, affirmed the motion court's denial, finding that a disappointed expectation of a lesser sentence does not render a plea involuntary and that the sentence was within statutory limits and not grossly disproportionate.
