Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District / Oct 6, 2020

STATE OF MISSOURI, Respondent v. DAVID RODNEY SCHACHTNER, Appellant

Appellant

David R. Schachtner appealed his conviction for first-degree statutory sodomy. He raised six points on appeal, challenging jury instructions, a Brady violation, admission of evidence, propensity evidence, and a discrepancy between his oral and written sentence. The appellate court affirmed the conviction on all substantive points but found merit in the claim regarding the sentence discrepancy. The court remanded the case with instructions to correct the written judgment to reflect the oral pronouncement of life imprisonment, while affirming the judgment in all other respects.
