Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District / Mar 12, 2024
State of Missouri, Respondent, v. Michael Bryant, Appellant.
Michael Bryant appealed his conviction for first-degree sodomy, first-degree kidnapping, third-degree assault, and armed criminal action. Bryant argued the circuit court erred by limiting cross-examination of a victim regarding prior inconsistent statements and by allowing the State to define reasonable doubt during voir dire. The Eastern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals affirmed the judgment, finding Bryant failed to preserve his first claim with a sufficient offer of proof and that the State did not misstate the law regarding reasonable doubt during voir dire.
