STATE OF MISSOURI, Plaintiff-Respondent v. ALPHONSE D. AVILA, Defendant-Appellant
Alphonse Avila was convicted of felony distribution of a controlled substance in a protected location and felony delivery of a controlled substance after a jury trial. On appeal, Avila challenged the sufficiency of the evidence, arguing the State failed to prove he knowingly distributed drugs within 2,000 feet of a school and that he was not entrapped. The Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District, affirmed the convictions, finding sufficient evidence for both the proximity to the school and to rebut Avila's entrapment defense.
