STATE OF MISSOURI, Plaintiff-Respondent v. ANGELA KAY FURTADO, Defendant-Appellant
Angela Kay Furtado appealed her convictions for first-degree burglary, third-degree assault, and resisting arrest following a jury trial. She challenged the sufficiency of the evidence to sustain her conviction for resisting arrest and alleged plain error in a jury instruction for the burglary charge. The appellate court affirmed the judgment, finding sufficient evidence that officers intended to arrest Furtado and that she knew or should have known of the arrest attempt. The court also found no plain error in the burglary instruction, as it followed the applicable MAI-CR and Furtado was separately convicted of assault.
