Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District / May 10, 2022
GEORGE F. ALDRIDGE, JR., Appellant vs. BRIAN HOSKIN, et al., Respondents
Inmate George Aldridge, Jr. sued six Missouri Department of Corrections officers for failing to return a radio/cassette player and personal photos after his release from administrative segregation. The trial court granted judgment on the pleadings against Aldridge, finding his claims were time-barred by the one-year statute of limitations in § 516.145. The appellate court affirmed, holding that the claims were filed more than a year after the damages were ascertainable and that equitable tolling did not apply to the statute.
