Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District / Aug 27, 2024
State of Missouri, Respondent vs. Carri N. Myers, Appellant.
Carri N. Myers was convicted of hindering prosecution after she lied to law enforcement about her husband's presence in their home, who had active felony warrants. The police eventually found her husband hiding under a bed after Myers repeatedly denied his presence and refused entry. On appeal, Myers argued there was insufficient evidence to support her conviction for concealing her husband. The appellate court affirmed the conviction, finding sufficient evidence from which a jury could reasonably infer Myers concealed her husband to prevent his apprehension.
