Corey Gray vs. State of Missouri
Corey Gray appealed the denial of his Rule 29.15 motion to vacate, set aside, or correct his judgment and sentence. Gray argued his trial counsel was ineffective for failing to impeach the complaining witness with prior inconsistent statements during his second trial for statutory sodomy and child molestation. The appellate court affirmed the motion court's judgment, holding that trial counsel's decision was a reasonable trial strategy and did not fall below an objective standard of reasonableness. Therefore, Gray failed to establish ineffective assistance of counsel.
