Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District / Jun 27, 2018
STATE OF MISSOURI, Plaintiff-Respondent, v. DANNY LEON WAYNE ESTEP, Defendant-Appellant.
Danny Estep was convicted of receiving stolen property after being found spray painting a stolen truck. He appealed, contending the evidence was insufficient to prove the "receiving" element of the offense. The appellate court affirmed the conviction, holding that circumstantial evidence, including his actions with the truck and flight from the officer, was sufficient to establish that he acquired possession or control of the stolen vehicle.
