Douglas Ready Missouri Cases

Douglas Ready (Husband) appealed pro se from a trial court judgment awarding attorney's fees to B.A. (Wife) for her appellate attorney's fees in a previous dissolution appeal. The appellate court had previously stricken Husband's initial brief for numerous Rule 84.04 violations and granted him leave to amend. However, Husband's amended brief also failed to correct the deficiencies. The Western District of the Missouri Court of Appeals sustained Wife's motion to strike Husband's amended brief and dismissed the appeal.

Douglas Ready appealed from a circuit court judgment in an interpleader action that awarded funds to Beth Armstrong and Daniel Barkho, and also awarded attorneys' fees against Ready. The appellate court dismissed the appeal for lack of jurisdiction. The court determined that the circuit court's judgment was not final because Ready's counterclaims and crossclaims against several parties, including unserved ones, remained pending.
