Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District / May 3, 2023
In the Interest of: J.R.S. and L.X.S., GREENE COUNTY JUVENILE OFFICE, Respondent vs. H.A.S., SR., Appellant
H.A.S., Sr. (Father) appealed the circuit court's judgments terminating his parental rights to his daughter, J.R.S., and his son, L.X.S. The circuit court terminated rights for the daughter based on statutory grounds of neglect and failure to rectify, and for the son based on Father's written consent. The appellate court affirmed both judgments. It found Father could not challenge the consent for his son due to the invited error doctrine, and that his against-the-weight-of-the-evidence challenge for his daughter was not cogent.
