Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District / Jun 29, 2021
H.E.S., Respondent, v. T.J.B., Appellant.
H.E.S. (Victim) filed a Petition for Order of Protection against T.J.B. (Defendant) under the Adult Abuse Act, alleging stalking. The trial court granted a Full Order of Protection, finding Defendant's conduct constituted harassment. On appeal, Defendant argued there was insufficient evidence to satisfy the statutory definitions of abuse or stalking. The Eastern District affirmed the trial court's judgment, concluding that Defendant's escalating, unwanted contact, including confronting Victim at her home, constituted harassment and served no legitimate purpose.
