Jacqueline Harris sued Volt Management Corporation for wrongful termination and retaliation. Volt moved to compel arbitration based on an arbitration agreement in its employee guide, which the circuit court denied. The appellate court affirmed the denial, holding that both the arbitration agreement and its delegation provision lacked consideration. This was because Volt retained the unilateral right to modify the employee guide's terms, rendering its promises to arbitrate illusory.
