Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District / Date unavailable
State of Missouri, Respondent, v. Jan Kawa, Appellant.
Jan Kawa appealed the trial court's order revoking his probation and sentencing him to four years' imprisonment for possession of a controlled substance. Kawa argued that because a probation revocation is a civil action, he could appeal under section 512.020(5). The appellate court dismissed the appeal for lack of a final, appealable judgment, holding that revocations of probation are not final judgments and thus not subject to direct appeal.
