Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District / Date unavailable
In the Interest of M.C., Juvenile; Juvenile Officer vs. J.C.
J.C. appealed the termination of his parental rights to his daughter, M.C. The trial court terminated parental rights on three statutory grounds, including parental unfitness due to a history of criminal behavior, substance abuse, and unstable housing. On appeal, J.C. challenged only two of the three statutory grounds. The appellate court affirmed the judgment as modified, holding that J.C.'s failure to challenge all independent statutory bases for termination was fatal to his appeal, and corrected a scrivener's error in the judgment.
