State of Missouri vs. Johnathan L. Bradford
Johnathan L. Bradford appealed his convictions for murder, armed criminal action, tampering, abandonment of a corpse, and assault after a jury trial. He challenged the trial court's overruling of his Batson challenge, the sufficiency of evidence for abandonment of a corpse, and the constitutionality of the abandonment of a corpse statute. The appellate court affirmed all convictions, finding no clear error in the Batson ruling, sufficient evidence to prove Bradford knew the victim was deceased, and that the constitutional challenge was waived because it was not raised at the earliest opportunity.
