Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District / Oct 10, 2018
STATE OF MISSOURI, Respondent vs. MANDY LEE LEMISTER, Appellant
Mandy Lee Lemister appealed her conviction for unlawful possession of a weapon following a bench trial. She argued there was insufficient evidence to support her conviction and that the trial court erred by rendering a verdict without first allowing for closing arguments. The appellate court affirmed the judgment, finding sufficient evidence of possession and concluding that the trial court's premature ruling on the verdict was inadvertent and did not deny Lemister an opportunity for closing argument.
