Appellant

Metrc, LLC appealed a declaratory judgment that its contract with the State of Missouri for a medical marijuana seed-to-sale tracking solution did not permit it to charge industry participants for proprietary RFID tags beyond the firm, fixed price. The trial court found the contract unambiguous and that a later-promulgated regulation was irrelevant to its interpretation. The appellate court affirmed, concluding that the contract, read as a whole, required Metrc to include all necessary costs, including the RFID tags, within the firm, fixed price.
