Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District / Feb 21, 2023

STATE OF MISSOURI, Plaintiff-Respondent v. MICHAEL PAUL SHANDS, Defendant-Appellant

Appellant

Michael Shands was convicted of the class E felony of failing to register a change of residence as a sex offender after a bench trial and sentenced to three years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. On appeal, Shands argued that the evidence was insufficient to support his conviction. The Southern District affirmed the conviction, holding that the State presented sufficient evidence to prove all elements of the offense, including that Shands changed his residence and acted knowingly.
