Michael Reddick filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Spring Lake Estates Homeowner's Association, home inspector Melvin Dockins, and Acuity, a Mutual Insurance Company, following his wife's fatal fall. The circuit court granted summary judgment to the Association and dismissed Reddick's claims against Dockins and Acuity. The appellate court affirmed, holding that the Association owed no duty to light private property, Dockins owed no duty to the decedent, and a Section 537.065 agreement did not bind Acuity or allow a direct action against it.
