Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District / Sep 22, 2020
N.C., Respondent, vs. Y.Q.L., Appellant.
N.C. sought a full order of protection against Y.Q.L., her former psychiatric patient, alleging stalking. The trial court granted the order, finding Y.Q.L. engaged in repeated, purposeful, and unwanted contact that was subjectively and objectively alarming to N.C. On appeal, Y.Q.L. argued there was insufficient evidence to prove his conduct served no legitimate purpose and caused N.C. alarm. The appellate court affirmed the trial court's judgment, finding ample evidence supported all elements of stalking under § 455.010.
