Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District / Nov 12, 2019
State of Missouri vs. Robert Allen Taylor
Robert Allen Taylor appealed his convictions for enticement of a child, sodomy, and rape, as well as his sentence as a prior and persistent offender. The appellate court affirmed Taylor's convictions, finding no abuse of discretion in the exclusion of certain evidence. However, the court reversed Taylor's sentence, concluding that the trial court erred in relying on improperly certified out-of-state conviction records to establish his status as a prior and persistent offender. The case was remanded for resentencing.
