Shannon Maxwell vs. Division of Employment Security
Shannon Maxwell appealed the Labor and Industrial Relations Commission's dismissal of her request for unemployment benefits. The Commission had affirmed the appeals tribunal's dismissal of her appeal after she failed to appear at a scheduled telephone hearing. The appellate court dismissed Maxwell's appeal, finding that her brief failed to substantially comply with the mandatory briefing requirements of Rule 84.04, thus preserving nothing for review.
