State of Missouri, Department of Labor and Industrial Relations Commission, et al Missouri Cases

Rita Lynne Terpstra sued the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations Commission (LIRC), the Department of Employment Security (DES), and Robert Lambert for age discrimination and retaliation under the MHRA. A jury found in favor of Terpstra on the age discrimination claim, awarding actual and punitive damages, but found for the defendants on the retaliation claim. The trial court also awarded attorneys' fees and costs. The appellate court affirmed the trial court's judgment, finding no reversible error in the conduct of voir dire, the admission of "me-too" witness testimony, or the award of attorneys' fees, and dismissing other points for lack of preservation.
