Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District / Oct 29, 2020
STATE OF MISSOURI, Respondent vs. STEPHEN WAYNE CRIDER, Appellant
Stephen Wayne Crider appealed his convictions for first-degree stalking and violating an order of protection. He argued the trial court erred by admitting the victim's statements to police and that there was insufficient evidence his actions were directed specifically toward the victim. The appellate court affirmed the convictions, finding the victim's statements were relevant and not inadmissible character evidence, and that sufficient evidence supported the jury's finding that Crider's conduct was directed at the victim.
