Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District / Jan 19, 2021
State of Missouri, Respondent, v. Terry M. Slayton, Appellant.
Terry M. Slayton appealed his convictions for domestic assault, burglary, and violating an order of protection, moving to remand for a new trial due to an incomplete transcript. The appellate court found that the transcript, which was missing the testimony of five out of six witnesses, precluded meaningful appellate review. Consequently, the court reversed the judgment of the trial court and remanded the case for a new trial.
