Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District / Apr 2, 2024
State of Missouri, Respondent, vs. Tyrus A. Young, Appellant.
Tyrus Young was convicted of second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and tampering with a motor vehicle after fatally shooting a victim and fleeing in a stolen car. On appeal, Young argued the trial court erred by allowing the late endorsement of DNA witnesses and by not intervening sua sponte during the State's closing argument. The Eastern District affirmed his convictions and sentences, finding no abuse of discretion in the witness endorsement and declining plain error review for the closing argument.
