Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District / Mar 23, 2021
State of Missouri, Respondent, v. Zachary L. Myers, Appellant.
Zachary Myers appealed his convictions for two counts of second-degree sodomy and one count of second-degree domestic assault. He raised four points on appeal, challenging the prosecutor's reference to the complaining witness as a "victim," the admission of a SANE Report, an alleged prosecutor conflict of interest, and ineffective assistance of counsel. The appellate court affirmed the trial court's judgment, denying the first point on its merits and dismissing the remaining three points due to substantial noncompliance with appellate briefing rules or because the claims were not cognizable on direct appeal.
